Wedding Receptions
Introductions
List the names and their respective titles in order of everyone you want introduced at the arrival of the reception: (If you do not already have a preferred order, I recommend the following: Bride's parents, Groom's parents, Ring Bearer & Flower Girl(s), Ushers, Groomsmen & Bridesmaids in pairs, Best Man & Maid/Matron of Honor, Bride & Groom): Would you like a particular song played in the background during the Introductions? Yes No If so, list the artist's name and song you would like for the Introductions?
First Dance
Tips: I find that most couples like to go straight into the First Dance after the Introductions. It is also a nice backdrop (especially for photos) to have the wedding party in sort of an arc around the dance floor and in front of the DJ table (keep in mind, we don't want to block the view for your guests). Some couples also like to have the wedding party join in the First Dance about halfway through it. Would you like the First Dance immediately after the Introductions (recommended)? Yes No, Later Not Having One If later, when would you like the First Dance? List the artist's name and song title for the First Dance:
Father-Daughter Dance
Tips: Let me say this first because I get quite a few couples who ask. No, don't feel as though you must do the Father-Daughter and/or Mother-Son dances. This is your special day, and you get to do whatever you want. Furthermore, it's ok to have two Father-Daughter dances if there is a stepfather involved. Of course, the same applies to Mother-Son. In situations where a parent is deceased or not present for whatever reason, it is also common to have brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles serve as substitutes for these dances. Also, it is not a bad idea to have the Father-Daughter and Mother-Son Dances after dinner rather than immediately after the First Dance. If you do all 3 dances back-to-back after the Introductions, then it can sometimes seem to get a little long for guests anxious to eat. On this note, feel free to give me a nod or just a stern look during any dance if you would like me to fade out and move to the next one. Would you like the Father-Daughter Dance immediately after the First Dance? Yes No, Later Not Having One If later, when would you like the Father-Daughter Dance? List the artist's name and song title for the Father-Daughter Dance:
Mother-Son Dance
Would you like the Mother-Son Dance immediately after the Father-Daughter Dance? Yes No, Later Not Having One If later, when would you like to have the Mother-Son Dance? List the artist's name and song title for the Mother-Son Dance:
Toasts & Cake Cutting
If champagne will be served to all your guests, then I will need to give the caterer about a 10-minute notice in order for them to pop the corks at the right time (keeping it bubbly) and serve the champagne. Will champagne be served to all your guests? Yes No List the names and their titles in order of those proposing toasts (typically the Best Man is first and often the only person proposing a toast): List the artist's name and song title for the Cake Cutting (a non-dance song is recommended; instrumentals are good):
Bouquet & Garter
List the artist's name and song title for the Bouquet Toss: List the artist's name and song title for the Garter Removal & Toss:
Last Dance
List the artist's name and song title you would like for a Last Dance: List any other special instructions for the DJ not already addressed: How did you find us?
