In 1982, Keynote Music began simply as a solo act of piano and singing of pop
standards and contemporary music provided by Meg Millring serving the Charlotte
metropolitan area. Meg also began performing with other talented musicians in
duos and as a lead singer in jazz bands. The popularity of Meg’s entertainment
grew, and as her schedule became full and her availability decreased, she would
provide customers with valuable referrals. Customers soon learned that Meg was
not only a talented entertainer herself but also a remarkable source for the
most professional and talented entertainers in Charlotte, NC.
In 1995, Meg Millring met Jim
Huyck, a local singer and mobile disc jockey. She found that Jim was “second to
none” in mobile DJ entertainment, and his business philosophy mirrored hers.
That is, customers expect and deserve the finest quality at an excellent value.
Meg and Jim began promoting each other and uniting their skills to meet all the
musical needs for any occasion, especially weddings (rehearsal dinners,
ceremonies and receptions). They eventually married and formally created Keynote
Music, “Leading The Way In Quality Entertainment” in Charlotte, NC.
